Description
1952 Series 1 swb petrol Land Rover in blue-black colourway.
It has the original chassis, engine and gearbox all of which have been refurbished.
Brake lines, cylinders, steering, exhaust and all mechanical parts have been renovated to a high standard.
Please note the odometer reading is incorrect as new speedometer fitted prior to my purchase.
Starts, runs and drives well. As featured in the March 2025 edition of Classic Land Rover magazine. (This can be sent as a pdf file to interested parties)
This is a rare vehicle being only one of around 373 series ones exported to Belgium in kit form in 1952 for use in the Gendarmerie - Belgian police force for over 20 years. Used as patrol vehicles and despite being soft tops, they were very heavy duty with a galvanised framed structure.
Re imported to England in 2016 when it was stripped down to chassis welded powder coated and painted in the original Belgian blue black.
Despite its age and history, it remains in good working order - even the trafficators are original - similar to those used on the Morris Minor.
