Purchased as a non-runner almost a year ago with the intention of entering a well known reliability trial. Whilst working on the vehicle I discovered a cracked block and thus found another engine worthy of transplanting. I also replaced all four tyres and brought the car up to a state where I was confident to submit an entry for the trial.
The car is solid, the paint isn't perfect but it is eminently useable and it drives well. The interior is a little tired and would probably benefit from a little tlc. Temperature and petrol gauges not accurate. The Mayflower is a charming small car with bags of character and during a weekend in June this year drove 80 miles to the event, 150 miles over some seriously challenging terrain and then a return 80 miles home. It was totally reliable on this trip. Starts and runs well. Lack of space (and wife) now forces sale.
