Lotus Esprit S3 for sale (1986)
2. 2 litre normally aspirated engine.
131, 434 miles (odometer shows 31, 434 but paperwork indicates that the five-figure clock has gone round once)
MOT until 21 April 2026 - exempt thereafter.
This beautiful, striking, pearlescent white Esprit with red leather upholstery has been dry stored since I acquired it in 2017. I have a partial history for the car going back through several previous owners.
The last owner had the car from 2011 and carried out regular maintenance, keeping it running and taking it to events.
Over time I’ve had the car partially deconstructed and rebuilt. Various maintenance and upgrades (along with oil and filters) include:
- Power Lite hi-torque starter motor.
- Front brakes upgraded to PNM Parts Esprit 4-piston high
performance brake kits (discs, calibers, brackets, pads, hoses).
- Brake master cylinder.
- Partial replacement of brake pipes.
- New front and rear PNM Parts adjustable shock absorbers with
sports springs.
- Re-carpet boot space and new boot cover.
- Battery disconnection key.
- Four passive Focal speakers and one active Pioneer speaker to
upgrade sound system.
In October 2023 I took the car to a Lotus specialist who carried out work including:
Full service
Valve clearances
Strip front engine/ remove cam shafts
Replace valve shims
New cam belt
New oil cooler and hoses
New exhaust down pipe and studs
Exhaust box adjustment
New clutch slave cylinder
New brake pipes front of chassis and rear calipers
Other caliper adjustments
New rear brake pads
Refit gear box bolts and replacement mount
New rear lower arm bushes
Adjust hub bearing
Steering column universal joint replacement
Interested parties can inspect this invoice along with the other historical paperwork.
Since this work I’ve covered only several hundred miles in total.
This Esprit runs well and I love taking it out on the road. I would happily continue ownership and maintenance but alas I have very limited time now and have decided to let the car go. I’ve set the price for a quick sale: £22, 995.
