Here is my lovely Volvo 940 Classic estate in Signal Red over grey velour.
The car has 118k miles & 12 months MOT with no advisories. The paint work is very good with minor age related blemishes. The interior is also very good but not perfect, as to be expected at this age. It has a full size spare wheel, full tool kit, Volvo snow trays, Volvo boot liner, load cover and a boot load of spare parts.
I bought it from a dealer to replace my previous 940 just over a year ago as it was a low mileage, low owner example with full service history in red, so I had to have it.
I’m the third owner on the log book, the previous owner had it over 24 years.
It drove 150 miles home after my initial purchase & has never left me stranded. I have spent a lot of time and money on preventative maintenance and repairs in my ownership. I will list some of the significant work done but there is too much to fully list here.
Significant work done:
- 111670 miles, 4 Michelin Primacy tyres.
- 112136 miles, oil & filters, spark plugs, entire PCV system replaced.
- 112180 miles, gearbox oil & coolant flush.
- 112294 miles, auxiliary belts.
- 114929 miles, timing belt, tensioner & spring, camshaft oil seal, camshaft cover gasket.
- 114933 miles, Distributor cap, rotor arm & leads.
- 114957 miles, welding to both front inner arches where they meet the battery/ washer bottle tray.
- 115034 miles, oil and filter (6 monthly I do them)
-115100, rear disks and pads (advisory in 2024 MOT)
- 115632 miles, heater matrix, heater control valve (golf mk1 part, Volvo discontinued)
- 115770 miles, front calipers, hoses & pads
- 116380 miles, starter motor (started getting slow to start)
- 116910 miles, original alternator rebuilt (was only charging when driving, noticed headlight brightness changing at night)
-117314 miles, intake manifold gasket, throttle body gasket, 4 freshly serviced and painted spare injectors fitted. Intake and throttle body cleaned also.
- 118018 miles, oil & filter.
I have receipts for all of these parts and a detailed recording of the date and mileage of what was done.
Its for sale as I have another car and a vehicle for work, so this isn’t going to get driven enough unfortunately. I also don’t really have room for it anymore.
