A superb example of a lightly used, fully restored low ownership S1 Fastback. Currently showing a credible 53, 000 miles which could well be correct judging by the past history of the car. Just 5 owners from new. Chassis BC42BG was supplied by H. A. Fox to the 1st owner, Sir Charles Bruce-Gardner on 1st November 1956. It changed hands 4 years later on his death to Arthur Leslie Shutes, of Aldford House, Park Lane, London. Leslie Robert Crawly, Harrietsham became the 3rd owner in 1964 before passing onto its German owner in 1972 who the current owner purchased the car from in 2016. , A picture of the car exists showing it stored in the Baronial Hall of the owners house in Germany, exhibiting super straight body panels, sitting up super proud. The current local owner, having taken the decision to use the car for long distance touring decided to recondition the engine, gearbox and back axle to put a “line in the sand”, so to speak, so reliability wouldn’t be an issue. He then decided, after going to such mechanical extremes, to have the car brought up to show standard, having the body refinished in Tudor Grey Metallic and trimmed in Scarlet factory spec Vaumol Connoly Hide code VM3171 by Aldridge Trimming. As usual, hard laid plans distracted by business commitments put peace to that idea. After a few thousand miles, the car has been little used for the last 4 years, hence the decision to sell.
