Very nice 1951 Singer Roadster 4AD with a left hand steering wheel, which is rare. The car is in very good condition, has a stainless steel fuel tank and stainless steel exhaust. Not currently registered but is a Belgian car with Belgian papers. Engine 1500 CC. The bonnet is in perfect condition and the fixed and plastic windows are present.
The Roadster version, the 4AD, was officially known as the Singer SM Roadster. It used the 1497cc, 48bhp (36kW) engine from the SM1500 saloon, mounted on a virtually unchanged chassis and body, retaining the hybrid hydraulic/ mechanical braking system.
The first production runs of the 4AD were destined entirely for export.
A car tested by The Motor magazine in 1951 had a top speed of 117 km/ h and could accelerate from 97 km/ h in 23. 6 seconds. A true British roadster, but with left-hand drive!
