Auto Storica is pleased to announce the sale of this Prince Super Miler. If you’re not familiar with Prince, don’t worry; the Japanese marque was never officially marketed in Europe and its history is fairly short, having been founded in 1947. Nineteen years later, in 1966, it was acquired by Nissan. Does the legendary model Skyline ring a bell? Well, it wasn’t a Nissan creation, but rather from the Prince Motor Company. The first Skyline was launched in 1957, as was the first Super Miler. To save costs, the saloon and the pickup shared several components, the most noticeable being the front end. Hence our model has the same twin‑headlamp front as the beautiful 1964 Prince Skyline Sport Coupé. You may be wondering how such a vehicle could have come to our country when, as mentioned, it was never officially marketed here; the history of our model is at least curious. Its first owner, the father of the current owners, ordered it exclusively from Prince to carry out transport for his marble business. He commissioned Fernando Poo, a Spanish province in Guinea, when Guinea was still a Spanish colony. By the way, the first number plate kept as a memento of the vehicle belongs to that colony. There are also no records of a Prince Super Miler in Europe, and certainly not with left-hand drive, because they were intended for Asia, they all left the factory with right-hand drive. A curious configuration that makes this Japanese pickup a unique model. A rare and very reliable classic. For over 40 years this pickup offered its owners uninterrupted service with not a single notable fault, until it went into well-deserved retirement in the late 1990s. Twenty years later we pulled it from its slumber to welcome it into our spaces. After we had checked all levels, it started, to our surprise, without major problems. Japanese reliability.
