The 964 was first registered on the 4th of August 1990, supplied new by Swinford Motors. Our Porsche came out the factory finished in Guards Red with manual transmission, air conditioning and sunroof.
A very comprehensive history file accompanies the car with MOT certificates and service records going back to the cars first registration. Developments made in the 1989 model year 964 marked a significant evolution from the previous Carrera 3. 2, with about 85-87% new components. The re-design including a new chassis, coil-spring suspension which replaced the previous model's torsion bars, power assisted steering, ABS brakes, and a 959-derived AWD system. In the heart of this 911 is a 3. 6-liter air-cooled flat-six engine producing 250 hp and 229 lb-ft of torque. In the fashion of a true driver's car, the engine was mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The fresh formula for the 964 C4 resulted in staggering performance and road holding making it one of the quickest and most forgiving cars to drive of its era. Porsche released performance data of a 0-60 time of just 5. 4 seconds and a top speed of 161 miles per hour.
