Appeal
Styled by Bertone and based on the mechanical underpinnings of the legendary Giulia saloon, the 1600 Sprint GT is one of Alfa Romeo’s most beautiful 1960s achievements. The early two-headlight “Step-nose" models are particularly prized by collectors, marrying purity of design with a twin-cam engine delivering the generous torque that gave Alfa Romeo its reputation.
This French-origin specimen, with matching numbers, has been pampered over the last ten years. Its current owner has invested over €20,000 in its preservation and improvements. This full restoration work includes a complete engine rebuild carried out in 2018 by the R-Box specialist. The block has been machined, re-bored, and fitted with new liners, pistons, intake and exhaust valves, and timing chains.
The braking system has also been completely overhauled, carburetion reset with two new carburettors, and the suspension overhauled. The coachwork was completely repainted in 2016 and received a full anti-corrosion treatment. Since then, the car has been stored in a closed garage. The result is a Sprint GT in very good condition, wearing an elegant white exterior, a grey fabric interior and burgundy trim. Accompanied by its detailed history file, original owner's manual and a second set of keys, this car is ready to hit the road and deliver an intense driving pleasure.Alfa Romeo Giulia 1600 GT Sprint 1966-57.jpg2.75 MB
