The Appeal
If you're looking to pinpoint the sweet spot in the 911 Turbo lineage, this is a compelling candidate.
For the 997 Gen II Turbo, Porsche moved away from the old Mezger engine in favour of a completely redesigned 500 bhp 3.8-litre unit featuring Direct Fuel Injection, and lacking the IMS bearing or coolant pipe vulnerabilities of older water-cooled Porsches. Pairing it with the option of the lightning-fast PDK dual-clutch gearbox created a car that remains devastatingly effective and deeply rewarding to drive.
This 2012 example in Jet Black over black leather presents a compelling specification. The 7-speed PDK gearbox with paddle shift is complemented by a generous roster of factory-fitted options, including BOSE sound system, fully electric seats with driver memory, Sport Design steering wheel, rear parking sensors, Bluetooth phone connectivity, auto-dimming mirror with rain sensor and iPod/USB interface for the PCM system. The whole car has been covered in paint protection film.
Having covered 40,671 miles from new, the car has been very well maintained, as the history file attests. A recent service by Paragon and an advisory-free MOT pass ensure it is ready for its next custodian.
A well-specified 997 Gen II Turbo with a known history, this Jet Black example warrants close inspection.DSC05821-2.jpg14.11 MB
