The Appeal
BMW has its M Division, and since 2002, Morgan buyers have had access to the firm’s Aero Racing Motorsport Division (ARM). Having honed its skills putting the firm’s cars on race tracks, it then developed a range of upgrades for the showroom.
The ARP4 was specially engineered by ARM in 2015 to mark the 65th anniversary of the firm’s classic Plus 4. Just 50 were made available, each one featuring a huge list of upgrades and bespoke features. Central to the improvements were a 225bhp Cosworth 4cyl 2L engine, special five-link rear suspension, upgraded braking system and adjustable Spax shocks. Visual surprise and delight features included AR dials, bespoke colour trims, AR black alloys and a special red painted chassis.
This 2016 ARP4 was bought by the seller new and has covered just 4,250 miles in the intervening decade. Due to the ARM upgrades, many of these cars have found their way onto the track, but not this car. We’re told that it has always been garaged and never used in the winter. The condition of the silver paintwork and ox blood leather cabin is commensurate with that care and sparing use.
Despite the low mileage, the car has returned annually (except 2021) to Morgan specialist Lifes Motors for servicing and checks. The last visit was in April 2025 at 4,118 miles. In fine condition and with such low mileage, this is a collector-grade example of a very special Morgan.

The ARP4 is a very Morgan take on the titivated performance machine. As you’ll read below, the mechanics are impressive, but what makes this car so appealing is the firm’s attention to the aesthetic details. It’s an approach valued by Morgan buyers and which rewards the eye as you inspect this car.
The silver metallic paintwork, black trim and Oxblood leather is a very tasteful combination and thanks to the low use it remains in virtually ‘as new’ condition. We love the bespoke ARP dials, exterior decals, alloys, bonnet scoop and special order box weave carpets. This is a very pretty car that stands out amongst contemporary Morgans.
The Mechanics
- Cosworth-tuned 1,999cc 225bhp 4cyl engine
- Mazda Five-speed manual transmission
- ARM braking system
- Five link ARM rear suspension system
- Spax adjustable shock absorbers
- Very low documented mileage of 4,250 miles
- Only every maintained by same Morgan specialist
- Last serviced in April 2025 at 4,18 miles
- No advisories on last MOT in April 2025
The ARP4 is no showroom queen - it has been thoroughly re-engineered by ARM using its experience racing Morgans. Key upgrades include that Cosworth-tuned 2L 4yl engine, which is good for 225bhp, while the handling is sharpened by a bespoke five link rear suspension set up. Enhanced brakes and adjustable Spax shocks head a long list of improvements that we’ve detailed above.
Thanks to all those changes, many ARP4s find their way to track days and other circuit-oriented lives. This car has led a very different, much more cossetted life, focused on very sparing use by its single keeper. Always garaged and never used in the winter, it is in fine health. Regular maintenance by the same Morgan specialist, as detailed above, underlines this point.
