Description
Smart and clean low mileage Singer Gazelle MK5 1965, superb original interior.
Owing to a growing classic car collection we have taken the heartbreaking decision to sell 'Charlie' our lovely Singer Gazelle. We think he has had enough fame and glory with us, and after a while being pampered, we are seeking a new and very caring owner for him. This car is really special, is far better than most Gazelles out there and having covered only a genuine 42000 miles from new.
Unusually for this model, the wooden dash is immaculate, no crazing or cracking of the veneer. The seats are virtually unmarked and are recliners!... also seat belts are fitted for extra security and comfort. Even the furflex on the door shuts is in great condition.
His engine is, as you would imagine, very good indeed and he fair whacks along keeping up with modern traffic with ease. If I were to be super critical, the clutch release bearing is a tad noisy at idle(common Singer thing) but is quiet on the move. It has always been like it and we felt there was no reason to mess about with it as the clutch is fine.
Charlie's body is in very good order, new front steel wings were fitted at some point and the rest of the bodywork is I would say 95% with just a few minor imperfections, the main one is that the paint has faded over the years in places, worn thin by loving owners polishing him so he has a nice.... what's the new buzz word.. ah, yes, Patina! but lovely all the same.
Charlie is probably one of the better Singers out there, rare cars, his chrome is pretty good with some pitting here and there, but hey! he is 53 years old.
Underneath he is rock solid. We have just serviced him so he is ready to go and if you wish, we are more than happy to put a fresh MOT on him because we know he will sail through.
He is in my name on the V5 and there is a lovely History file with him full of old bills, old MOT's, all his old tax discs and much more besides along with a Singer owners manual and other bits and bobs and some toys from the 1960's that add to the allure when at shows, I will include these.
All the tyres are spot on, his boot is immaculate and I could waffle on and on all day so best thing to do is come and have a look or ask me any questions you like, we have nothing to hide. Cherlie is good to go as is or could be taken to the next level if that's your thing. The price asked is very reasonable given the condition of this rare car but we are always open to sensible offers.
