Supplied new to South Africa, this very smart 3. 8 Mk11 was imported to the UK in 2004. It was purchased by a Jaguar enthusiast to keep company with his E type and he lavished care and and not little money on maintaining and lightly upgrading the car. The engine was overhauled 11, 000 miles ago, and the overdrive unit was rebuilt. A new clutch went in along with an upgraded alternator, electric ignition, new headlights, a new steering wheel, a new wiring loom and various trim and chrome items. Throughout the file there are invoices for constant servicing and repairs to keep the car up to scratch.
The upgrades include fitting an M. and C. Wilkinson power steering kit, a Kenlowe electric fan, a Becker Mexico stereo, chrome wire wheels, a Motalita steering wheel, a stainess exhaust, and seat belts all round. The bonnet has louvres let in and the interior has new carpets and leather along with polished woodwork.
