This 300 TDi engined Land Rover Defender stands out as value for money, having been 'futureproofed' by the fitment of a galvanised chassis.
We offer it for sale as a useable 'project' vehicle which would benefit from cosmetic improvement by its next owner, but has many desirable features which single it out from the crowd, the main one being that the chassis has been replaced by a previous owner with a galvanised Richards Chassis in 2013/ 14, meaning that the dreaded chassis corrosion which blights the otherwise excellent Defender vehicles is not going to be an issue in the future. A chassis swap is not a cheap exercise, and this one has been done properly.

Reassuringly we have a huge folder of receipts and details of work carried out by a previous owner, who clearly lavished a great deal of time, money and love on this Landy. Included are historical invoices for the galvanised chassis, BFGoodrich tyres, new Turbocharger and silicone hoses (2014), fuel tank, brake overhaul etc etc.
We have inspected it in our workshop and as a result have just replaced brake pipes, brake pads, fitted a complete new exhaust system, carried out professional footwell repairs, and have given it a service and MOT.
It would benefit from cosmetic improvement of the outer body panels, doors in particular, which let it down somewhat, although don't stop anyone from enjoying the drive. We suggest that any prospective purchaser view the Landy and make their own mind up as to whether it is the right one for them, but we have priced it at a level which is comparable with other similar vehicles of the same age but which don't have galvanised chassis or all the other expensive additions, accepting that some cosmetic work is needed.
We have the V5 document which shows date of registration as 24th March 1997 and it is now MOTd until January 2020. Mileage is showing as 135, 000 but this can't be verified by us.
