Another lovely BMW Airhead, just in.
It seems to be getting harder and harder to acquire nice, original airhead boxers, so we’re delighted to have just taken this one into stock.
We’ll be assessing and riding the bike over the next few days, but first impressions are excellent. The motor fires readily from cold or hot, with non of the usual Boxer smoke. Oil, charge, and neutral lights operate as they should. A quick spin out reminded me of just how effective the RT fairings are, and being the monoshock, the suspension, and those twin Brembo brakes up front make for assured and rapid progress.
This one is very, very clean and original, and despite the much used word “patina” cropping up in adverts nowadays, i think that in this case it fits perfectly. Even that lovely silver coachwork, complete with fading, hand painted factory coachlines, is original.
