Here is my 1966 Bedford RL HCB Angus Fire Engine 4x4 up for sale.
HCB - Angus Fire Engine No. 1295

Running well, driving well and stopping.....

It's 6, 000 mile service was carried out on 31/ 7/ 67, which was the last service documented in the service booklet. Current mileage showing 4, 245 miles

Originally bought from Egertons Ltd by Channel Airway Ltd, Ipswich airport. It has lots of history including its original service booklet, drawings pipe diagrams, and wiring diagrams, letters between Ipswich Airport and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) documenting the fitting of its foam capabilities to comply with regulations at the time.
It was owned by Bell Groups co-founding director and used in The Lord Mayors show in 2000. This is shown with newspaper clippings and pictures of the wagon attending the event.
It has tax discs from 2000 - 2010, clearly being used throughout this time.

It has a PTO pump at the rear of the vehicle, a foam tank, a water tank, some very old looking fire extinguishers, hoses, nozzles, guns, couplings, even a fireman's outfit.
As far as I can tell it has its original 4. 9L straight six petrol engine- although on the V5 it states a capacity of 8000cc- along with all original transmissions and axles.
Good tyres, siren works (very loud), lights work, horn works, low range and 4 wheel drive works, speedo seems to work, oil pressure gauge working, rev counter works. basically most of it is working as it should.

The rear windows in the cab are present but currently not fitted as the rubber seals have perished and there is some rot around the frames. The drivers front windscreen seals are pretty bad, the windscree itself does open and works as it should (I tend to drive with it open).
The drivers footwell has a few holes rusted through. The doors have a fair amount of rust at the bottom (not as much as my Land Rover though). below the rear windows there is a line of rust spots and holes, spanning the width of the cab.
The chassis is in excellent condition, I can't find anything other than surface rust.

The rear body has its good bits and bad bits. It looks good overall but once you start digging deeper there are patches of rust. Inside the cabinets are rusting through, one cabinet floor has been cut out ready to be replaced.
It does sound like its a big old rust bucket. This is not the case, most of it is good, solid metal.
The whole wagon was repainted in 2011. It was, however, painted completely red, which doesn't stay in keeping with its original red and yellow paint job.

The tax is free and, as its still a fire engine, it is MOT exempt. I was driving it around with these rules in place.
Overall its in fair condition. It has good bits and bad bits, as-per most vehicles that are 52 years old. It certainly makes the heads turn- especially turning up at the pub. Everyone asks questions about it, wants to sit in it and sound the sirens.
It has a brilliant history, which is well documented. Needs work but the work required is worth it. It's a piece of history that is worth keeping going and would be a shame to see it rot away. it could even work great as a vintage food truck or bar, DJ booth or something along those lines.

I'm putting it up for £2000. I don't know whether it's worth more or less so I would appreciate honest offers. If you are interested then you need to come down and have a good look around it. I do have more pictures and videos that i can send out if needs be.

I can also arrange delivery at an extra cost.
