Restoration Summary & Reason For Selling:

o This car was purchased after an approximate 10-year search by current owner for a complete, ground-up restoration. Owner performed a no-cost-spared restoration to his dream car with no intent to sell.

o Welding & specialty work was subcontracted to shops highly experienced in their respective trades.

o Owner’s approach was to restore the car to JCNA concourse fit and finish standards, but install numerous updates that make the car much more drivable and reliable.

o During the restoration, JCNA established a new class for this type of drive/ show restoration, S2/ MODIFIED to which car was judged in June 2018. Score: 9. 991/ 10. 000.

o In May 2016, when the car was approximately 95% complete, Owner’s best friend with whom numerous restorations have been performed over about 25 years died of cancer. Owner was able to take ownership of friend’s all-original 1966 XKE roadster. Owner must very reluctantly sell this coupe to satisfy financing of his deceased friend’s XKE roadster.
