Description
Messerschmitt KR200 Bubble Car - 1959
An opportunity to acquire a genuine unrestored original Messerschmitt Kabinroller KR200:
Mileage is just over 35, 000 from new. The car has been stored for many years and engine not been run since. Generally the car is in reasonably good condition however it will need restoration therefore some parts will obviously need replacing. It has never been welded and the floor pan is solid and looks excellent. The rear engine hood requires some repair work as it had been stored in a garage with a leaking garage roof at some time in the past.
It has a Sachs 200cc two-stroke engine which is the original from new.
It retains its original registration number and has a nice colour combination of original light yellow with a tinted roof dome.
The original interior side trim panels have escaped previous replacement and seat coverings are all present.
Unrestored examples remaining today are few - this car isn’t perfect and it is in ‘as found’ condition but does offer originality as well as a degree of historic reference of its original fabric etc, which sadly a number of cars have since lost due to many previous unsympathetic restorations over the years. The car was first registered in 1959 and has always remained in the UK It’s not been cleaned up in any way and there is no visible trace of any filler, so you can see exactly what you are getting.
It’s as basic as it left the factory. In summary, a genuine original example which is in need of restoration or alternatively the car could be mothballed for preservation in its current condition.
Safe delivery/ transportation should be possible but this would be subject to prior agreement.
