Description
1934 Vauxhall Stratford Sports Tourer 14 h. p. 6 cylinder. In Mint condition after a complete nut and bolt restoration. As featured in finds and discoveries Classic and Sports-car edition 1999. This car has been the subject of a complete chassis up restoration. It retains its original Irish registration number , and is a very rare model, built by Whittingham and Mitchell only 5 still exist and this was the only one to be built with a boot. The chassis has been blasted and painted, with rebuilt axle and new brakes all around. Engine is a 6 cylinder, 14 horse power original engine, which has been rebored and new bearings, gearbox has also been checked and restored with a new clutch. The aluminium body tub has all been restored and features access to a boot, and the bonnet has aluminium sides. Chrome plating has been carried out by Derby plating. It has been painted professionally and refinished in a beautiful maroon with creme, and looked fantastic at my daughters wedding ! The electrics have had a new loom fitted. The interior is hand made with contrasting maroon leather with creme piping, and wool carpets. The hood is also brand new and hand made with side screens, with a matching tonneau cover. There has been over 2, 500 man hours spent on bringing this splendid 85 year old car back to life, all documented , receipts and photographed, but it’s now time to move on to a new owner who will look after her and no doubt win many prizes in the future. Any questions I would be happy to answer them, viewings strictly by appointment.
