This rare bike is a number matching bike in good original unrestored condition. Bike will require recommissioning to get on the road(new battery, fresh fluids, Forks cleaned up, Carbs cleaned etc). It has great compression on kick start and imported by myself early last year from the USA from a lady in Ohio who stated she was the 2nd owner. The bike is fully UK registered with aged related plate and V5 in my name. Will not take much to restore to excellent condition and add value which I intended to do, but with a backlog of work I need to sell it. Chrome is very good, some small areas of pitting, tank and side panels paint is faded, frame paint very good. More pictures available on request or any particular photograph you request I will take for you to show you condition of chrome/ paint. Comes with BSA owners certificate authenticating it is matching numbers and shipped to the USA in 1964.
The BSA Lightning Rocket was a highly tuned version of the BSA A65R Rocket this was BSA's bid to capture the potentially lucrative USA export market in the mid-1960s. Twin Amal 389/ 206 carburettors and high compression pistons combined with an optional close ratio gear box to give lively acceleration.
