A 1975 E. G. Autocraft, Arrow 365/ 4 Daytona Spyder Replica, Rosso Corsa. In the 1970's, E. G. Autocraft produced very faithful and accurate reproductions of 365 GTS/ 4 Daytonas, manufacturing approx 80 examples of which 7 were Spyders. Ferrari officially offered the Scaglietti bodied Daytona Spyder for two years from 1971-1973 with 122 examples being made, of which seven were right hand drive. Ironically this means that the replica is rarer than the real thing. Acknowledged as the finest recreation and best built 365 GTS replicas ever built, (wikipedia), these are exact full size vehicles, moulded from an original Scaglietti car and fitted with authentic chrome external body furniture. They are very convincing to all but the beninformata. Unlike other replicas, a multi tube bird cage framework designed by the race famed, Emillo Garcia, was designed to accept Jaguar XJ 12 subframes containing anti dive independent suspension, vented disk brakes and engine / gearbox of said vehicle. Price in 1973 was £20, 000 in kit form; you had to provide your own mechanicals or built up for £25k !
This example in stunning Rossa Corsa bodywork, has an interior in cream with correct seats of cream leather with black alcantara inserts plus Nardi steering wheel. Powered by Jaguar V12 engine mated to borg Warner automatic gearbox, performance matches looks with a good turn of speed and wonderful noise from quad custom exhaust system.
A great deal has been spent on this 44 year old vehicle in the last six years whilst in dry storage, including New calipers, new disks, new quad exhaust, new fuel pumps etc. It is running and driving with only minor detailing and a carb tune up left to do before returning to the road for a great experience.
