Here we have for sale an increasingly rare 12v RHD soft-top Land Rover® Lightweight.
Externally, there are many period lightweight features that one might hope to see survive - military screw-on lenses, front and rear bumperettes, bridging plate, bonnet mounted spare with strap, split tailgate and a full set of the correct extra-grip, high-milers in the chevron military style. A recent canvas is fitted, with compliments the better than usual paint finish to the vehicle. Vintage plates complete the period look.
The interior continues the theme of originality, with a period dash, period heater with demist to drivers side, military flyscreens and a recent seat set all fitted with belts. Twin bench seats are fitted in the rear of a matching style to the front, and load mats are fitted to the footwells throughout, giving a smart and clean finish.
Out on the road, the 2286 petrol engine mated to a Weber carburettor pulls the vehicle nicely and 'as it should'. The correct sized 650 tyres are ideally mated to this setup which results in keen acceleration and a pleasing period driving experience.
