1963 FORD CORTINA CONSUL DELUXE MK1
Just arrived with us this week is this super desirable MK1 Cortina. What’s nice about this car is it’s a genuine UK supplied, right hand drive MK1 Deluxe. The bulk of these car’s are imported examples and the majority being left hand drive also.
It has had just 3 former keepers from new, the first two owners being father and son who owned this between them for the first 27 years of its life, the third for 22 years and the most recent keeper from 2012 to date. A very usable example that has been painted in the past (the colour match isn’t the best on the nearside front wing and door). Overall its a very straight, honest example that has had both front wings replaced with grp items. There is no rust on the body. The chassis and all floorpans have been undersealed from new so remain in remarkable condition with no welding required whatsoever. I noticed 2 small patches that have been previously replaced in the boot floor but for a 57 year old car I think this is very good indeed.
The car starts without issue but I would recommend a full service of all fluids and filters and replacement of the spark plugs as it has had very sparse use over the last few years. The exhaust was removed to fit a stainless system that the previous owner never got round to doing so we can refit the existing exhaust for any successful buyer prior to collection/ delivery at our cost.
Interior trim is in excellent condition with no rips or tears to the seats or damage to the dashboard or door cards. The front door frame trims have frayed at the back so these could ideally do with changing also.
It is a very presentable vehicle overall (but not perfect) but is also priced extremely keenly also. A great basis for a car for any Ford enthusiast to enjoy. Most at this price level require major work before they could even be used, this is a smart usable example that can either be enjoyed as it is or improved over a period of time whilst it is in use.
