Between 1959 and 1961, 34, 928 of The Lambretta TV175 Series 11 were produced being a far superior model to the preceding Series1 having a much more robust and reliable engine based on an over bored Li 150 power unit producing 8. 6hp at 6, 000rpm. The headlight now moved from a fixed position up onto the front of the handlebars. Not only was this a safety improvement but it helped create an aesthetic harmony on the scooter and helped to balance out the sheer size of the leg shields and front mudguard. The handlebars were also radically altered to accommodate the change. Badging was the same as the Series 1 with a long “art deco” style Lambretta and TV175 badge on each side panel. The uprated engine now capable of pushing this “sporting” scooter to over 60mph! These scooters are increasingly rare and they are good looking and powerful for their time and increasingly valuable to collectors.
Our Lambretta TV175 Series 11 was first registered overseas in 1960 and came to the UK where it was subject to a full body restoration and registered on 1st July 2019 as a historic vehicle. We have also just had the engine re-built and so it now goes as well as it looks!
