We are very pleased to offer very rare Limited Edition 1988 Austin Mini Jet Black. Only 1000 of thes Minis were produced and in the late eighties and they were also produced alongside the Red Hot limited edition at the time, both are now seldom seen. This example has been well cared for and maintained and makes a very viable proposition into the world of Classic Mini motoring as it is very useable on a daily basis. The last keeper cared for it for ten years with lots of important maintenance being carried out during that time, giving its new keeper piece of mind and the chance to drive and enjoy one of these fantastic cars.
On the road this Jet Black drives well. The 998 engine is smooth and responsive and the gearbox also works well. Performance is brisk and she happily cruises at Motorway speeds. This model also has rear seat belts and disc brakes and is in a very low insurance group.
Jet Black Minis have very smart interiors, Black velour trim with red piping, the theme is continued on the outside with red coach lines, red steel wheels and Jet Black badging. The interior is well presented and has had survived without modifications. This model also has a factory fitted sunroof which is a nice bonus on warm days.
As mentioned this Mini has been carefully maintained and is very solid indeed. It has the correct vented sills, solid floors and boot and it has also had a very recent rear subframe. We have fully serviced and checked it and it has been driven at length by myself. The paintwork presents well showing only minor imperfections but overall she wears her 32 year old vintage well and it is a good looking package. It has nearly a years MOT and is ready to go to be driven and ejoyed.
