Montesa mh 349, 1982 model. The bike is road registered with v5 (currently sorn).
this bike is fantastic and extremely rare to find in such condition. Straight out of the time warp & very original, never trialed. I have owned the bike for the past 10 years as part of my collection. The original owner had it for 25 years. It is a 1982 model, however it was first road registered in 1984. matching frame & engine numbers (pictured). it has been kept in a dry, warm garage.
it is all original, apart from the rear sprocket which someone has fitted along the line, the tyres have been changed, as the originals were rotten, the same applies to the fork seals & the fuel hoses. Also, the fuel tap has been replaced, as this too had succumbed to perished rubber. I will include the original tap as part of the sale, maybe someone could repair it? the rear shocks are betor types, which were replaced by the previous owner. the air filter has also been replaced.
as can be seen, the bike is still on the original mudguards, which are un-scratched. i haven’t cleaned them up, as they feature original patina. the front ‘rinder’ headlight is still present, although not wired up. it has a handlebar mounted decompressor lever fitted to aid starting. fitted are also some 1980’s renthal handlebars, quite an upgrade at the time. all controls are the original amal type, featuring the original lever covers. the cables are all the standard factory fit ones, from the time. the frame is original, unmodified & never painted. the same can be said for the footrests. there is some minor bubbling under the tank decals, presumably from fuel. i have stored the bike without fuel in the tank. these could potentially be fixed. there are some minor scuffs on the sump guard (pictured), i assume from storage on a stand.
the engine is very quiet & tight, due to the lack of use in its life. the gear box and clutch fluids have just been refreshed. the bike could be started & used anytime, however it does warrant being preserved as well as possible & added to a collection. it has not been cleaned up with lots of shiny bits added, this bike has just been wheeled out and features all original patina. there is a video of the bike running on youtube, however i am unable to post the link on this site. please contact me for the link.

you are welcome to collect the bike, however due to current restrictions & the social distancing enforcement, i can arrange uk mainland delivery from £85. this does not include: scottish highlands & islands, northern ireland, chanel islands. this will need to be finalized with the buyer after purchase.
