This highly desirable Piaggio Vespa VBB 150cc was manufactured in Italy in 1962 and comes to us with a British Lambretta archive letter of authenticity. The scooter was subject of a full restoration to show standard in 2015 and was then brought over to the UK and registered.
The scooter was fully stripped down and re-painted in the original period shade of Blu Medio 213. The motor was rebuilt with new bearings, seals and new gasket. On arrival in the UK further detailed work included fitting a quality hand woven wicker basket with matching handle bar grips, Italian number plate holder, new running bars and rubbers and mechanical work included tuning the carb and cleaning the brakes. It was also MOT tested. Since restoration the Vespa has only covered 2000 KM's and has spent most of its time being a showroom centre piece. The Scooter spent several years on display in an Italian restaurant in South Wales before heading over to a collector in Amsterdam who has owned the Scooter for the past few years.
The Vespa is a stunning, correct example and presents beautifully with stunning paintwork. The general condition is delightful throughout and the scooter is usable whilst also good enough to show and exhibit. It starts promptly, runs and rides lovely and should prove a lot of fun and a great investment
