Vehicle history:
The BMW M1 was the first ever product from BMW's legendary motorsport department. A gifted start, as the M1 marks the beginning of a series of many legendary sports cars from the Munich company. The mid-engine sports car with the louvres on the bonnet was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro with his Turin design studio Italdesign. The BMW M1 was made for use on the racetrack. The street version went down in history as “Germany's fastest sports car” - with a top speed of over 260 km / h. The racing versions of the BMW M1 according to the Group 4 and 5 regulations were even more impressive.
This beautiful example was delivered in October 1980 by the BMW branch in Frankfurt to its current owner, who has moved it a total of 65, 765 km in the last 40 years. The service booklet and the original owner's manual complete a very exciting vehicle that can be considered a milestone in the BMW company's history.
