In December 1951, two Fiat Campagnola set up from the special fiat and coached section of the Savio in a long HT version, led by Paolo Butti and Domenico Racca, carried out the Algiers-Citta-Cape Town cross-round crossed in 11 days 4 hours and 54 minutes , establishing a world record still equally matched.
