Presenting this 1976 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow I, Flared Wheel Arch Model, With An Incredible History
- Freshly discovered after more than twenty years in dry storage -

EQUIPMENT:
Hand built steel & aluminium coachwork, Triplex "Sundym" glass, Rolls Royce stainless steel wheel trims with colour coded bands, electric windows, central locking, electrically adjustable seats, power steering, centre console, front & rear armrests, clock, polished burr walnut veneers, period upgraded stereo & 8 Track player, rear vanity mirrors, 12v power sockets with cigar lighters, ash trays, & all of the usual period Rolls Royce refinements
EXTERIOR:
Finished in the stunning & unusual period livery of Honey Gold over Walnut.
The coachwork remians in a very honest order & is untouched throughout, totally as discovered after many years in the family garage. All brightwork is original & complete with the exception of the Spirit of Ecstasy. This 'R' registered Silver Shadow certainly makes for a very exciting & straightforward renovation for her next custodian
INTERIOR:
Optioned with Beige leather upholstery, Black top & knee roll. The whole interior remains in an unrestored condition. The leather is soft & supple & displaying a charming patina throughout. Garage storage since new has protected the cabin materials from the ravages of UV exposure.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION:
Built with the traditional Rolls Royce 6750cc V8 engine coupled to the far superior three speed automatic transmission producing an "adequate" Bhp figure
This Silver Shadow I has unusually been in RREC membership since new. During her twenty three years in storage, the engine was started at regualr intervals. Upon removal from the garage at the end of 2020, the engine was turned over by hand, fluids replaced, spark plugs renewed, etc. The engine started with zero effort & runs like a dream! The tickover is near silent & is one of the sweetest running examples we have encountered in a very long time! Please do ask to view the video.
We must stress that no attempt has been made to recommission the car since removal from long term storage & this naturally will be required before road use!
HISTORY FILE:
Supplied new on 22nd August 1976 via Rolls Royce Main Dealership, 'Wadham Stringer' in Southampton to a Mr Peter Yorke.
Chassis 'SRH 25418' was cossetted since new. Starting out her journey in life on Guernsey, registered under the very time appropriate 'GBG 77'. She then returned to the UK mainland in the following June of 1977.
Viewing the service schedules booklet reveals twelve service entries with ten being from Rolls Royce main dealerships & further maintenance carried out by marque specialists thereafter. Accompanying the history file is the original owners book pack that includes the factory issued warranty card, MoT test certificates dating back to 1985, road tax discs dating back to 1998, Sales & Service Handbook & various correspondence from the Rolls Royce Enthusiasts Club
This late Silver Shadow I 'Flared Wheel Arch Model' purchased in March 1993 by a father & son, was enjoyed until retirement from driving in 1999. The car remained in the family garage awaiting recomissioning until now, when the tough decision was reached that the now elderly gentlemen must simply allow the next custodian to enjoy the renovation procedure.
Supplied by ourselves back in January to a Swiss collector who now unfortunately has a change in circumstances, meaning that this 1976 example is available to secure once more!
