Descripción
An exceptional, right-hand drive (UK), 1973 Citroen DS 23 Pallas Injection Électronique, retaining its original electronic fuel-injected 2. 3 litre engine with the desirable semi-automatic transmission, with only 72650 miles from new. Chassis number 01FG5789.
XDO 55L was first registered by Citroen Cars UK in December 1972 and used as their demonstrator before being sold to its first registered keeper, Derek Warman, on the 1st March 1973. Renowned Citroen specialist Denis Spencer (Centreville) bought the car from the first owner in 1989 and kept it in storage until 2007 when Louis Walsh of Dublin commissioned Centreville to restore it to his specification. In 2017 the car underwent a comprehensive concours-level restoration and is now in outstanding condition; finished in its original colour – Brun Scarabée AC 427. The tabac leather interior with removable head restraints and front and rear armrests was reupholstered by Italian DS specialist Enzo Forgione, who produces the most authentic and by far the best Pallas interiors. There is an extensive photography file and comprehensive documentation outlining the restoration, including service and maintenance invoices to date, together with a heritage certificate from the Conservatoire in Paris and the original bill of sale.
The car was chosen to represent Citroen's centenary in 2019 at the London Concours of Elegance event in the City of London and is featured in a short film online in The Telegraph's 'Best cars ever made'. A very special car and an absolute pleasure to drive. Viewing in central London. Further details on request.
