Description
2005 Aston Martin V8 Vantage - Asia-Pacific Highway/ Project 30, 0000
Far from your run of the mill Aston Martin V8 Vantage, this 2005 example is the first car to ever travel the length of the Asia-Pacific Highway, covering 10, 000 miles from Tokyo to London.
The car was prepared and loaned by Aston Martin to two British drivers who made the journey to raise awareness for children’s road safety in the developing world, with minor modifications such as a strengthened sump guard and raised suspension. The journey was completed without a hitch, but this was not the car’s first mission.
Prior to the Asia-Pacific Highway adventure, the car had already taken part in Aston Martin’s ‘Project 30, 000’ in 2006, which saw 30 employees drive 30, 000 miles in 30 days to celebrate Aston Martin's 30, 000th production vehicle. Following this early life of factory-backed adventure, the car was then sold to an Aston Martin collector who purchased the car at a UNICEF charity auction in 2007 and racked up some 12, 000 miles in the car over his 13 year ownership.
Today the car has covered 129, 060 miles and was last serviced in October 2020 by main dealer Rybrook Aston Martin. The car presents in remarkably good condition given the exciting life it has led, and still wears its event livery with pride. The car is sold with a large history and service file documenting factory services, as well as literature from its many travels.
A fascinating example of a manual V8 Vantage, ready for a new owner to continue covering miles and keeping the story going.
