bike on the bimota owners register
family owned since 1999 (my mum was 2nd owner, then myself 3rd)
bike was a weekend toy for my mum who couldn’t bring herself to sell it after she stopped using it due to other commitments, so i bought it from her, i don’t ride, so i mothballed the bike to see if she ever wanted it back further down the line. She doesn’t ride anymore now, so the bimota needs a new home. Open to offers/ negotiation on the price.
the bike has been sorn since 2011 and will need a complete review before going back on the road.
since bringing the bike out of storage (several weeks ago) its had
- new spark plugs (ngk)
- new battery (yuasa)
- oil filter (hiflo)
- oil (castrol 10w40)
- replacement fuel pump (used walboro 255)
- carbs - new float pin and bowl seal/ gasket
bike runs, but runs very rich, will struggle to rev or stall afterwards. I presume this is just the carb setup needed or just the bike hasn’t really run for over a decade. Seems to have improved when its been started for the plant few days.
paintwork is original but needs attention, storage marks and was dropped during a house move, (front right mirror damaged but repaired). paintwork will need respraying to get right. All original livery stickers present.
bodywork - the fibreglass has bubbled in high heat areas due to a poor curing process from factory (believed to be chucking them on the roof to set in the sun!), this will be rectified when painted again if the new owner wants to.
open to offers on the bike, very contrasting values based on mileage, condition and rarity. Just want the bike to go to a good home.
