For Sale Panther Kallista 2. 8i
Now for sale as a result of needing an automatic car.
I have owned the Kallista for 13 years having bought it from a previous Panther Club member. I am the fourth owner of this 1985 registered car. The 2. 8i is now a rare motor car. Based on the Ford V6 Cologne engine and 5 speed gearbox these cars are pretty bullet proof. The car has been well maintained and starts first time. Having covered only 65, 000 miles, it is in its original paintwork, the ‘turbine’ style wheels have been professionally refurbished and it sits on 4 good tyres. MoT’d until 18th November 2021 it passed last time with no advisories at 64698 miles. Little use this year and it has only covered 6000 miles in last 10 years. Mainly used in the dryer summer months the car is stored in a secure garage.
The car is all original apart from tyres, badge bar and wire headlamp protectors. The seats and door cards are covered in a unique original Panther fabric in good condition apart from some wear where the seat belt rubs. The bodywork being mainly aluminium is in good condition with minor paint blemishes. Underneath is in good condition and a new rear section of stainless exhaust was fitted last year. The car turns a lot of heads and attracts many admirers.
The car drives well and has superb acceleration ( Panther claim 0 -60mph around 7. 7 secs). As with all Kallista’s the steering is not powered and a little on the heavy side. The clutch is also heavy but overall the car is a joy to drive. The hood has a pretty clear rear window but does have a small tear and a 3mm hole which is patched but as most driving is done for the breeze in your hair that is not a problem.
Overall the Kallista has been an excellent fun car but for health reasons I have now purchased an automatic version. As a Panther club member spares are readily available from Bruno’s spares and being mainly Ford mechanicals, prices and availability of parts is not a problem (even from Ford main dealers) . One benefit of Panther cars (which are not ‘kit’ cars but made by Panther Westwinds of Weybridge) is that you get 30’s looks with 80’s reliable mechanicals and unlike a modern car you can access all the bits under the bonnet. The car comes with spare wheel cover, hood cover and an overall car cover. I have some recent history and a full list of previous owners.
