Welsh Gilbern Genie arrived from 31 years in storage with Gilbern expert in Leicester.
First photo shows it's arrival on Saturday the 18Th of September 2021.
First registered on the 05/ 05/ 1969 chassis number G1140
Registration number VYA 940G MILAGE
The owner whom I presume is the first owner, put this in storage in 1990 with Chris Smith the then Gilbern spares secretary and proprietor of The Chris Smith Gilbern Garage.
I acquired the car on the 19Th of August 2011 from the family of said owner.
Documents that go with this car are 1977 V5, January 1987 MOT Inspection report, January 1987 MOT Certificate, 18Th of August email from family argree sale and terms , 19Th of August BACS payment receipt, AA insurence renewal document andone receipt from T. W. motor factors in Bristol for replacement Ford V6 engine at £ 311. 65 dated 14/ 01/ 1980.
This last Saturday is also the first time I have seen this car, very pleasently suprised as to how good it is.
Absolutely superb in nearly all departments, 100% complete, no body damage, only minimal surface if at all rust, interior has lasted very well with only the drivers seat needing repair, headlining only has two tiny rips , door cards ok, all glass very good.
Will be a very easy recommissioning, I would be more than happy to keep this car, but for the lack of an expert to restore it, the others have retired or have full order book to 2024 !
