Over the last nine months UB1360 has undergone a complete restoration. As bought it was partially assembled and I completely dismantled it for inspection and measurement. Cranks and big ends had previously been renewed to correct clearances and were unworn; cylinders had been rebored and piston clearances were correct. Eddie Shermer (professional Scott engine restoration expert) re-ground and replaced the main bearings and reset the flywheel end-float.
The engine is to TT Replica specification, which the factory called ‘Powerplus’. It gave about 30 to 32 bhp.
Transmission and cycle parts have been dismantled, cleaned and renewed where necessary.
The bike is roadworthy, but the owner is not (due to insufficient balance for riding). A new owner will therefore need to make final adjustments as the bike settles down on the road. There is a V5C in my name and the bike is taxed with its original registration number, UB1360, issued in February 1930.
I have restored many vintage Scotts and keep a 'build record' for each, primarily for my own use as the work proceeds. This gives much more information than is shown here and is available by email
