2001 y rover mini cooper s works number 37 of final 50 edition (see below for details about this limited edition run).
sold to the first owner on 1 march 2001, this y-registered car has covered 28, 000 miles from new and i first purchased her in october 2010 on c. 20k miles.
i have a full dvla record of previous keepers prior to that time. There is lots of history with the car, and the limited edition certificate signed by john cooper.
finished in tahiti blue metallic, with silver roof, silver/ black interior and engine turned dashboard. The car also has a full-length retractable electric sunroof, which is perfect in the summer.
garaged throughout my ownership, and only used on nice days, the condition is very good. There are a few bits and pieces to really tidy her up and bring her up to concourse standard. Priced at £26k with the work done, or i am happy to consider lower if taken as seen (a quote from my local mini specialist has been obtained, and they have said that they are happy to discuss the condition of the car with interested parties).
the final 50 s works cars:
john cooper garages created this limited edition run of the final 50 cars, sold with the s works conversion fitted from new. Accordingly, this car comes with a limited edition certificate, and all of the usual s works extras. These include twin upswept exhaust (now very rare), replaced the cylinder head, roller rockers, exhaust manifold, exhaust and air filter. John cooper garages also added john cooper door step covers, wheel badges, valve caps, oil dip stick, alloy fuel filler cap, chrome door signatures, pedal covers and red bonnet and boot badges. Each car had a numbered conversion plaque by the drivers seat, and all of these important details are all still present and correct.
the sound from the exhaust is unique and makes driving her a very special occasion.
john cooper garages continued to sell the s works conversions as a retrofit option for a number of years after the last new minis were built/ registered, but the cars in this limited edition run were the last ones to be converted and sold with the kit from new by john cooper garages themselves.
this is a unique opportunity to purchase a highly collectible example in what i feel is the best specification and colour combination. I have only seen one of these advertised in the last few years, sold with 2k miles for £34k by a well-known specialist (also in tahiti blue but without the sunroof). i have priced mine to reflect the higher mileage - which is still exceptionally low for a 20 year old car.
