HONDA CB750 FOUR SAND CASTING 1970
Unable to accurately gauge demand for the new CB750 Four, Honda limited its initial investment in production tooling for the CB750 by using a technique called gravity die casting (often incorrectly referred to as sand casting) instead of die casting for the engines. It was only when demand for the CB750 Four became apparent that Honda moved to casting the crankcases for production. Because of their rarity, sand-cast engines are highly sought after and extremely valuable.
The engines have a distinctive rough surface similar to the roughness of 400-600 grit sandpaper.
The engine serial number of an original Sandcast is CB750E-1007414 or lower.

This Sandcast is one of the last 500 produced. This Sandcast is being sold on behalf of the owner, a collector with many beautiful and rare motorbikes. This Sandcast runs in his collection but has been sitting idle for years. If the Sandcast is sold, it can be included in the consultation. The engine is loose.
