For sale 1963 Mk1 Morris Mini Cooper S 1071 Project. Not Austin.
Almond green with old English white roof and porcelain green / grey interior.
RHD, UK car, 4 former keepers, built in June 1963, and first sold in Lincolnshire by Roland C Bellamy Garages – a well-known local prestige dealership.
V5C in my name, heritage certificate, dateless registration, some history including the old 1980s logbook, MOT, Tax discs and old photos. The car has VIN, Engine and FE number tags and has been off the road since 1982. Currently in long term storage - ** 1st photo for attention only, rest are of the shell, recliners, RH tank and LP882**.
Shell – on the whole pretty good, been kept indoors, although has no front panels attached. Has had new floors in the past. Been blasted as the car was painted red in the 70s (I have photos to prove this). Correct S shell with boot board brackets, has the holes in the right places, correct date. Comes with doors, bonnet, boot, glass, badges and a lot of the chrome items.
Engine – 1071 original numbered parts including: twin AUD99 carbs on 179 inlet manifold, 11 stud rocker cover, rockers, 163 head, 151 block +40 / matching caps, 171 crank + 10, 177 rods, 190 gearbox case with ST (Special Tunning) straight cut gears.
Interior – original S front recliners, rear seats, head lining, restored 120 dead speedo, gauges, and ancillaries.
Brakes / Suspension / Subframes / Tanks – lots of these parts come with the car, including a right hand Serck tank (dealer option).
Wheels – restored 4x LP882 original wheels with new Dunlop Aquajets that cost £140 each.
It is a great time to buy a 1071S, they were only made for 2 years, there are only 45x 1963 1071S on the DVLA website of which just 18 are Morris and the vast majority have already been restored. It is the 1071S 60th anniversary in 2023, the 60th anniversary of Paddy Hopkirk winning the Monte Carlo Rally in his 1071 will be in 2024 and, you need this car to qualify for a number of prestigious classic car races.
