Excellent example of a low mileage (78k) UK car, this is a limited edition 1 of only 500 model made between May-Sept 1997. With the more powerful 130hp 1. 8 engine, body colour is Silver, with special 15inch sports alloy wheels. Interior trim feels luxurious with burgundy leather seats, walnut console and Momo leather steering wheel. Full 12-month MOT till February 2023, mechanically 100% with no advisories and service history.
There is no corrosion on the underside, arches or sills. The car drives superb, with smooth gear changes and the sports exhaust has a great sound. The engine bay is entirely original which is rare to find. Complete with original toolkit, spare wheel and jack all present. The car comes with fully stamped Mazda dealer service history from initial 10 years of ownership, followed by detailed records and receipts for regular servicing and maintenance since. At the last MOT, the test inspector remarked how well looked after the car presents. Original owner’s manual also included.
All the original specifications of this limited are present with the car, including burgundy floor mats and cockpit interior brace behind the seats. Standard equipment with the car was an immobiliser (with 2 keys and fobs), power steering, Clarion CD player, a high-level stop lamp and locking wheel nuts and Harvard wing badges. In 2020 the soft top was replaced with a brand new premium ‘Prestige’ roof (note there is a small approx. 2-inch tear at the base of the window from a branch falling, repaired and completely watertight) plus new tyres fitted all round. New anti-roll bar drop links fitted front and rear, plus pedal controls fitted with OEM covers so they look and feel like new. I also have a rare black leather tonneau cover for the soft top roof when it is folded down which can be included by negotiation.
Having owned a number of MK1s over the years, I am familiar with all the common issues and what to look for in a good example. Overall, this is a very clean and solid example of a limited edition MK1. It is ready to drive and can be enjoyed on a daily basis. Welcome any inspection, but genuine enquiries only please.
