“The pickup was bought in 1977 new in Las Vegas, It was owned by a fastidious
old man who even noted when he put air in the tyres, (photo of notebook
attached).
When he sadly died, the pickup was stored in Vegas for some years until his
son took it to a restorer in Vegas, (sadly unknown) who had the whole truck
stripped, put on a rotisserie and restored back to ‘stock’ specification as it
would have been originally out of the factory. Many parts were retained but
due to the heat/ strength of the sun, much of the interior had to be replaced
with new, but still stock and of the right era.

The truck was then used by the son for some years before he sold it to a UK
importer of US vehicles (sadly also unknown).

This particular model of the GMC, in the short hold on the market whilst
having joined up with Chevrette, is particularly rare, being manual and 4X4.
The ‘Sierra’ model was particularly rare and one of the most expensive models
available at that time.”

In the last year the truck has had a few visits for upgrades and maintenance,
with over 600 photos of work carried out.
- Leaf spring and shackle bushes replaced

- Lucas P700 light upgrade

- Custom stainless-steel exhaust from downpipes back
- Full underbody chassis, suspension and floor treatment and protection

The underside of the vehicle was hot washed and cleaned. During this time
fuel tanks and the spare wheel were removed. The chassis and suspension had
any small areas of surface corrosion treated and then the whole vehicle had 2
coats of Lanoguard applied. The floors of the cab and bed were immaculate,
with no need for any surface rust treatment.
The exhaust is subtle in the cab, but still maintains the V8 rumble. Videos are available of the exhaust.

The interior and paintwork are near immaculate, the truck drives well and flew
through its first MOT in the UK last year and has covered very little mileage
since.

In summary a well-equipped truck with history from the states as well as lots of recent
history and pictures to go with. It has been serviced, maintained and partially
restored throughout the last year by the owner. A few tasteful upgrades to
complement an otherwise original vehicle.
