2005 BMW (E61) 545i SE Touring
Full Service History – last service 11/ 02/ 22
119, 500 Miles (will rise – doing 500miles a week!)
4. 4L V8 333bhp / 332lbs ft torque (0-60 5. 8sec, limited to 155mph)
6 Speed Auto
Amethyst Gray Metallic (Rare colour option)
Black Leather
18” Alloys (original) with Michelin PS4 tyres
Front & rear parking sensors (PDC)

A hugely capable tourer (estate), in a rare colour, with performance capable of worrying Porsche owners when it was new!
Powered by a 4398cc V8 engine, sending 333bhp / 332lbs ft through the six speed automatic ZF gearbox.
Acquired by me in June 2020 at 89, 563 miles and driven daily, we have covered over 36, 000 miles and completed 5 services, in my 20 months of ownership! Consistently returns 24mpg (on E5).
Being a 2005 model, road tax is only £340 for 12 months – got in before the big price hike!
Reluctantly up for sale, purely because the cost of everything is rising rapidly and my income is not!
Viewing possible near Uckfield, East Sussex, or near Croydon.

This car looks fantastic in the rare colour option of Amethyst Gray Metallic. There are some small stone chips and marks around the front bumper/ bonnet if you look closely, but for a 17 year old car it presents extremely well and from a couple of feet back it looks amazing.
The original 18” 123 style alloys are shod in Michelin PS4 tyres – brand new on the rear (11/ 02/ 22) and the fronts have 4. 5/ 5mm remaining, with very even wear. The alloys do have some scuffs/ kerbing, but again, they look great from a couple of feet away, considering the age and mileage.
The interior is in excellent condition. With electrically adjustable front seats, (memory on the drivers), it is a very comfortable place to be. The leather on the drivers seat shows a little wear on the bolster, as all BMW’s seem to, but not as bad as most and is still very presentable. The interior has been kept clean and the mats appear to have been in place from new, as the carpet beneath looks perfect. There is also a genuine plastic/ rubber boot liner in place, so even the boot carpet looks amazing. As far as I know, everything works as it should.

Service history… (there is a lot!) I’ve almost filled the second leather wallet with paperwork from my 36k miles with this car.

I have also acquired a full size matching spare alloy, which wears a part worn Michelin PS4.
Immediately prior to my purchase the n/ s/ r front suspension arm was replaced.
In May 2020, a specialist replaced the compressor and both air springs for the rear suspension, (along with a parking sensor and the pass seat occupancy sensor).
The engine is chain driven, so there are no cambelt changes to worry about!

The V5C is present and registered in my name/ address. It shows this car has had 4 previous owners.
There are 2 keys present.

Faults…
Generally speaking, everything this car has needed, has been done. I have been and still am, driving this car about 500+ miles per week. I don’t have time for it to let me down, or even irritate me! However, please bear in mind this is a 17 year old car and all old cars will need something soon enough!
As of 11/ 02/ 22, the only code/ fault that shows is the AUC sensor. It’s about £70 (I think) and only affects the automatic air recirculation in the cabin. It still appears to work sometimes and the sensor is very easy to replace yourself if you want to get round to it. I’ve never felt the need.
There are some stone chips and possibly very small scuffs around the car, but it presents extremely well. There is some possible discrepancy with the paint on the passenger side of the vehicle – the door/ wing look like they could be a slightly different shade. It shows more in the pictures than it does in real life and I’m ashamed to say I didn’t even notice it for months! There is nothing in the history to indicate why this may be. The same passenger door also has a very slight ding in it, (thanks to Morrisons car park). It’s genuinely quite hard to spot – people don’t see it unless I point it out. A paintless dent guy could sort it, but I got over it and have just never had time to get it sorted. There is no pant damage.
The only work I am aware of being due in the future, is the rear subframe bushes. They are wearing and will want replacing one day. Sometimes you will hear a small knock when pulling away, but it doesn’t feel like it’s had a huge effect on the handling/ ride at the moment, so I have not yet got round to it.
The onboard ‘computer’ shows that the front brake pads are due to be replaced in 3200 miles – that figure has gone down 200 miles in the last 1200 I have driven! That will obviously depend on your driving to some extent, but I am currently running EBC Yellow Stuff pads (which I highly recommend), which are a lot more resilient that standard ‘oem’ pads. They are definitely lasting longer that the onboard system expects. I have just fitted new Brembo pads on the rear and only didn’t replace the fronts as the EBC pads are currently out of stock in the UK! The front discs were replaced 14 months ago, so are all good.
The MOT will be due on 24th June 2022.
