Title: Genuine BMW 535i Sport Manual
Text: As per title, this is a genuine BMW 535i Sport.
5 speed, manual with LSD.
Full black leather interior with Blaupunkt stereo.
Staggered Azev 10 & 8. 5 x 17 with 265/ 35 & 235/ 40 tyres.
This is a genuine 3 owner car and was subject to a full body restoration in 2019 at a significant cost to the previous owner that would exceed £10K today.
Car has been maintained rigorously and comes with a detailed service history covering all maintenance and the body restoration. Detailed photographic history is also available by request.
This is a really nice example of a genuine 535i Sport that runs and drives really well and has clearly been cherished by the previous owner. The bodywork is in very good order with zero rust. There are some marks etc as you would expect with a 31 year old car but overall it's an extremely handsome car that always attracts positive comments. All corrosion was cut from the body shell, the cavities treated and new metal let in where needed. The whole car was properly protected once this extensive restoration was complete.
The extensive black leather interior is a lovely place to be and the seats are in excellent condition with little or no visible wear. Even the driver seat bolster remains perfect and details like the period car phone and Blaupunkt head unit make it very stylish and nostalgic. There is a small bluetooth adaptor included for a little added convenience however. The heaters all work properly, as does the A/ C. The headliner (a common E34 weak point) is very good with just a small section to the rear that could be repaired easily. The sunroof panel could also be improved by a trimmer but it has never concerned me enough to worry. I only mention it now as a courtesy to prospective new owners.
Mechanically this 535i is in fine fettle and 100% reliable. Everything works as you would expect of a BMW of this era and the service history this car has always been properly maintained using only genuine BMW parts. Whilst the mileage equates to an average of 6600 per year, it drives without fault and still performs as you would expect. It has been perfectly reliable and the M30b/ 3. 5 engine sounds lovely. It uses no oil and does not smoke. The gearbox and gear change are perfect but there is a little grumble from the clutch release bearing. It has been this way for some time however and was a job that the previous owner and Motech BMW (who maintained the car for him) had planned to do if the clutch needed replacing again, as it does not effect the smooth operation of the clutch or drivetrain.
The only reason I am considering selling my 535i is to purchase another BMW track car. I am in no rush to sell and will not entertain silly offers. I consider myself very fortunate to own such a nice example of what is now a very rare BMW 535i, being both a genuine Sport and a manual gearbox. The LSD was fully rebuilt and is silent in operation.
I am happy to help with arranging nationwide delivery or independent inspection.
E34 BMW are currently excellent value but prices are increasing as alternatives (such as the E30 325i Sport) costs have spiralled. Whilst I would not suggest buying as an investment, there's no denying the 535i Sport manual is a bargain compared to other 80's and 90's BMW.
