About the vehicle:
This fantastic DKW 1000 is a rare beast in the UK and was imported into the UK from South Africa. This means the car has benefitted from better climates and it has aged incredibly well and prospective viewers will be impressed with the paintwork which is in excellent condition.
Again, the inside of the car is in great condition and the interior has aged well and looks far newer than the age of the car would suggest. Gear change, which is column change on these cars, is smooth and precise with no worn feeling to it and the vehicle very solid and well built when driven. Handling is as expected and there are no knocks or rattles.
There’s some history with the car and there are bills and paperwork from both the UK and from the car’s previous life in South Africa.

Although unusual, the car has incredible amounts of space to take advantage of inside and like the Morris Minor Traveller, it’s a versatile vehicle which offers a multitude of different uses and is a very practical classic…without the Traveller price tag! The DKW club are very supportive and active and new owners would be well supported with likeminded individuals for problem solving and advice.
