Garaged and meticulously cared for from new by elderly registered keeper. Little used and gently driven. The supplying BMW agent was “Hammer & Co. Germany. The original owner was Mr Bernstein who would order several cars, brand new and direct from Germany. The BMW cars were ordered for his company. Circumstances meant that this BMW 316i Compact became surplus to his needs. Mr Bernstein would advertise the car for sale with only delivery miles on the speedometer. Always garaged and seldom driven during her twenty-one years of ownership. She would drive the BMW a little more often during the earlier years of ownership. But still only covering a few hundred miles per year. The later years of ownership and her failing health saw the BMW almost unused.
The most recent service was completed in February at 9870 miles. Just a few hundred miles ago. A new mot and vehicle inspection was issued on the 2nd of February. The mot was issued with no advisories recorded. As well as the routine servicing, additional maintenance included: new front and rear brake discs and brake pads. A new set of brand-new tyres were also fitted at the same time.

My BMW will be supplied with Two Remote Key Fobs: The additional emergency key is there.

On the Road: The car starts on the first turn of the key and the drive is excellent. The manual gearbox engages with ease and the clutch has just the right weight. The biting point is perfect. The engine is smooth, quiet and extremely economical to run. The steering is tight and positive, just as BMW intended and the suspension and ride quality is “M Sport” firm and exceptionally smooth. The brake pads and discs are new and in perfect working order.
The Boot Compartment: Clean dry and immaculate. The Anthracite interior carpets are quite perfect and look unused. The spare tyre is a factory fitted space saver and remains unused. The jack, brace and tools are all present.
The engine compartment: The engine compartment is amazing. The surrounding interior panels are completely free from oil and dirt. The engine compartment is really quite stunning. Apart from a recent dust and polish it has always been cleaned and maintained to a high standard. Please see my pictures.
Interior: The sports front seats are in really perfect order and show little sign of being used. There is no bolster wear at all. The dash, doors and centre console materials are all in perfect, as new condition. The floor carpets front and rear are in as new condition having been protected by factory carpet mats from new. The carpet pile is deep and soft. The optional carpet over mats are also in perfect condition. “I can’t stress enough how nice the car’s interior is”. Please see my pictures.
Alloy Wheels and Tyres: All four alloy wheel rims are in perfect condition. Even the inner rims are immaculate. They really set the whole car off. All four tyres are brand new and have maximum tread depth.
Body Work and General Condition: Quite Stunning, the body panels are exact and completely free from the usual every day dents and scratches. The paint work is stunning and unmarked. There might be a small chip somewhere if you really look hard. That’s all. The paint work is bright and has a good coating of polish. The underside of the car is very clean and rock solid. All the glass is in perfect condition. The cars exterior is really quite exceptional. Just what you would expect from a low miles BMW. Even the door checks are clean and polished.
A new Mot has just been issued in February with no advisories recorded. The next service isn’t due for another 10000 miles. Or longer if you are a low mile’s driver. There is nothing for the new owner to attend to. The car drives faultlessly and everything works as it should. You will struggle to find a better BMW Compact. A true classic…
