The Leyland Cars Passport to Service booklet shows that this striking SD1 was supplied new in November 1978 to Messrs Wickman Machine Tool Sales Ltd of Coventry. The driver then documented his every mile in the Hickman Vehicle Log Book until January 2008 when the car had covered 11, 449 miles. MOT certificates from 2007 to the present confirm the current mileage reading of 14, 097.
This SD1 has the 2. 6 litre, six cylinder engine with a five speed gearbox. The Heritage Certificate in the file shows that one of the options chosen on this executive car, was a passenger mirror although the box marked 'electric windows' was not ticked. It has power steering, refurbished alloy wheels with new tyres, and a radio. Also in the file are the Supercover Handbook Portfolio, lots of invoices and a spare set of keys.
In 2008, the Rover received a a top-end engine rebuild and it has subsequently had a new headlining and a stainless exhaust right through.
The SD1 is in excellent condition and has a documented low mileage.
