Moto Guzzi Le mans Mk2. 1981.

I used to have a Mk1 that I sold some years ago and bought this last year with intention of re-living happy memories. I have not yet put it back on the road and is currently sorned.
I have now bought a Moto Guzzi T3 as well which is better suited to my age regarding riding position etc. I am fast running out of space in my garage, so a couple of bikes need to go.
It will be eligible for historic vehicle status this year so will not need a MOT or taxing from that point. Registration doc gives date of registration 05 05 1995 and states was registered and/ or used. Declared manufactured 1981. This has been verified by the Moto Guzzi club who confirmed that built in September 1980 and went initially to a shop in Germany on 23 September 1980. It is not clear when imported into the UK but safe bet to say around 1995.
The club has also confirmed that it is a genuine mk2 Le Mans.
It looks to have been subject to a previous restoration. The frame and paintwork have been done to a high standard, including correct pinstriping and use of matt/ sheen black to top of tank. A sticker inside of a side panel states – Shropshire classic sprayers.
Fitted with:
Rita Lucas electronic ignition.
Sump extension.
Lafranconi exhausts.
Jota adjustable bars – comes with standard bars included in sale.
Flat top carb conversion to lighten action – comes with original tops included in sale.
Koni dial-a-ride rear shocks in perfect working order.
I have swapped K and N pod air filters for rare original bell mouths (filters also come with bike). Changed oil and filter, changed gear box oil and replaced a perished carb intake rubber. Valves have recently been set up. It fires up and ticks over as it should.
It is still running linked brakes but with uprated hoses.
Looks to have been recently fitted with a new starter motor.
Good hardly worn discs and plenty of pad wear left.
All lights and instruments work as they should and shows a healthy charge rate.
The current mileage is showing 23379 and I have a lots of old MOT certificates showing this to be correct.
Not so good bits
New Metzler rear tyre but front is mismatched and keeps slowly going down so would benefit from a new front tyre.
Small previously repaired crack on front nose fairing, you need to look hard to see it.
I have done next to no miles on this bike since buying it as not put back on road so would benefit from a good shake down.
Overall, a very nice genuine Mk2, open to any inspection and I will be sad to see it go.
