After weeks of thinking I would like to advertise the cavalier to gauge the interest.
This 1978 cavalier 2. 0s has been very well preserved in its life and recently recommissioned by myself to make it a useable classic. I have had calipers reconditioned, new brakes and full service carried out including gearbox oil, diff oil and rear wheel bearing.
I added few of my own touches such us lowered suspension, Bilstein front shocks and spax adjustable on the back, as well as had the standard wheels banded to fill the arches better which have been professionally sprayed and new set of nankang tyres fitted earlier this year.
The good bits about this car are that it's never been welded and chassis does not require any welding jobs and it's been covered in oil by previous owners who kept it inside most of its life.
Currently there are only 7 cavalier sports hatch GLS auto registered with DVLA, and only 2 on the road. One being 1600 and one 2000 based on th this information this vehicle is the only 2000 currently on the road. So if you fancy something rare this may be your opportunity.
I am in no rush to sell it as I do generally love the car and it's only costing me £120 a year to insure however I would love to see it being used more and could do with releasing the funds.
Now some of the bad bits:
* Tthe paintwork has a petina look.
* The radio has a knob missing , my little lad knocked it by accident and cannot find it.
* The interior is showing some signs of wear and some trims missing but after all it's a 44 year old classic car.
* Front splitter needs attention
My plans for the future if I keep it is to upgrade the carb to Weber and have it resprayed and tidy up the missing trims etc.
This car is in really good condition for age and I do use it to go to car meets and when my lad wants to go for a drive, If you fancy a rare classic this might be it!
Was advised by a vauxhall specialist that this car due to rarity should be advertised for over £10, 000 but I'm willing to listen to offers.
