1951 Francis Barnett Powerbike 98cc -great fun little bike!
Founded by Gordon Francis and Arthur Barnett, Francis-Barnett set up shop in the old Excelsior works in Coventry in 1919, but by the early '20's and the downturn in the market, meant the switch to more utilitarian models and the ‘Built Like A Bridge’ advertising slogan was born.
Francis-Barnett used Villiers two-stroke engines exclusively throughout the 1930s and in 1938 they introduced the 98cc Powerbike.
This lovely 1951 example was off of the road for many years and re-commissioned in the late 1980’s. She retains her lovely (non-transferable) registration.
Recently she has been gone through and the charging system was overhauled and the bike serviced. She is a lovely easy starting bike and runs very well and is a hoot to ride and draws interest whenever she stops.
Classed as Historic, she is Tax and MOT exempt and the V5 is in my name and she comes with a spare carb.
A video of her running can be shared -just message me and I will send you the link and I can also send high-res images of the bike to you via We Transfer if required -again please just message me.
Viewing most welcome near Henley-on-Thames: RG9 5NB and I can help with courier/ or delivery if required -just ask.
This lovely little Franny B is in good running condition and is great little classic bike for just £1, 595
