Rare and original 12 seater Series 2A Station Wagon (Safari) with a tropical roof registered in 1971. In outstanding original condition and showing 103, 000 miles, which is believed to be genuine.
The original chassis and bulkhead are in sound condition and require no renovation, the underneath having been waxoiled and maintained properly and the rear crossmember and 1/ 4 chassis having been replaced in recent years. 4 x brand new Insa Turbo Ranger tyres. The rear door, shock absorbers, fuel tank and exhaust are recent replacements as was a repaint in the original Land Rover mid (Welsh) grey.. The brakes have just been overhauled and a new master cylinder fitted. New clutch master cylinder.
The original 2. 3 litre petrol engine runs perfectly and pulls strongly and the original gearbox is all syncro, as these last Series 2As were fitted with the Series 3 gearbox.
Many extras are fitted including deluxe front seats, side steps, rear mounted jerry can, front wing mounted shovel & pick, bonnet mounted spare, rubber mats, inspection lamp etc.
This lovely Land Rover has never been messed about and is as straight as you would wish to find. Good for another 51 years if cared for as it has been. Viewing in Norfolk is welcomed.
